The winner of three awards at the inaugural Pacific Music Awards in Auckland last night, is taking his trophies back to Samoa.
Tha Feelstyle, or Kas Futialo, picked up the best hip hop artist, ahead of New Zealand Music Award winner, Scribe, best song and best male awards.
However, Wellington-based Futialo, says he's hopeful his win will inspire the younger generation back home.
"I'm going to leave it there somewhere, where the next generation of kids in Samoa can say, 'Yeah I can actually be myself, go to New Zealand and be', you know, that is it, it's possible."
Other winners included veteran R&B band Ardijah, with Sara Jane Au'vaa best female and young duo Adeaze, the group award.
