The US military and the FBI have joined police in Guam in a search for two escaped convicts who're described as armed and dangerous.

The Pacific Daily News reports police are still looking for a convicted murderer and robber who've now been on the run for six days.

The supervisory senior resident agent for the FBI office on Guam, Kevin Rickett, said police have now requested the FBI's support and assistance.

Military officers have been helping in the searches at Andersen Air Force Base.

Jeffrey John Cruz and Frank Pangelinan escaped from a maximum security facility on the 18th of March.
