American Samoa auditor in court

7:40 pm on 30 March 2005

A pre-trial conference for American Samoa's Territorial Auditor, George Webster, has been scheduled for April the 26th.

During his initial appearance in court, Mr Webster's attorney, Mark Ude, asked the court's permission for his client to attend a government conference in Fiji.

District Court Judge John Ward has approved the request and directed the government to release Mr Webster's passport so he can attend the conference.

The Territorial Auditor faces two misdemeanor charges stemming from an incident earlier this month in which he allegedly assaulted his wife and had driven a government vehicle while intoxicated.
