Business travellers hit hard by inter-Samoa immigration tightening

Business travellers will be hardest hit by stricter immigration requirements for travel requirements between the two Samoas.

Government leaders from Samoa and American Samoa are meeting in Tutuila later this month to try to resolve their differences over tighter controls on immigration requirements.

Samoa recently imposed mandatory entry permits for all U.S. nationals entering Samoa from May 1st, but American Samoa has expressed opposition to the move.

The Samoa Observer's Terry Tevita says business is often interdependent between both Samoas, with some people travelling up to four times a week between the two countries.
