The new Solomon Islands Police Commissioner is expected to take the oath of office next week.
The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports Government House as saying the new commissioner, the senior Australian police officer, Shane Castles, will be sworn into office before the Governor General on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Castles replaces former Police Commissioner, Bill Morrell, whose contract expired last month.
Mr Morrell is expected to return to Britain next week.
