The Solomon Islands Leadership Code Commission says a former Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Alfred Sasako, may have committed an offence by engaging in outside employment without the permission of the Commission.
According to a report on Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation, the Commission's chairman, Emmanuel Kouhota, says such offences can carry a fine and a ban from future elections.
The Commission says it only learnt through the media that Mr Sasako will head the ACP media and Communication division in Brussels while remaining a member for East Kwaio until the parliament is dissolved.
It also says the Leadership Code Commission is yet to receive an application from Mr Sasako that he has engaged in a paid employment outside his employment as an MP.
