American Samoa's governor, Togiola Tulafono, has called for public support for a renewed quest to improve healthcare and education during his Flag Day celebrations address.

He says the government has already made strides to solve problems at the hospital and improve health care.

The governor also called on the Fono to support a request to fund a Political Status Study Commission, which will review where American Samoa stands in its relationship with the United States.

Togiola says these results are necessary before any changes are made to the constitution.

He plans to convene a Constitutional Convention in November this year.
