The Marshall Islands parliament will convene a special one-day session next month to hear a speech from the Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian.
Mr Chen is scheduled to speak to the parliament on the second of May; the day after a state banquet hosted by the Marshall Islands President, Kessai Note.
During the banquet there'll be a presentation by the rarely-seen Jobwa stick dancers who are flying in from the remote atoll of Ujae.
This dance group, considered the most traditional of all modern-day dance and music groups in the Marshall Islands, only performs on special occasions at the direction of paramount chief, Michael Kabua.
The President will also make a one day visit to Kiribati and a short call at Funafuti in Tuvalu before returning to Taiwan.
