US pays to fight substance abuse in Guam jails

Guam's Department of Corrections has been given a federal grant of 135,000 US dollars to provide substance abuse treatment for individuals or groups held at the territory's detention facility.

The announcement was made by Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo.

Funds are allocated to each state, the District of Columbia and five territories based on its prison population in relationship to the total prison population of all states combined.
