The deputy secretary general of the Pacific Islands Forum, Iosefa Maiava, has told a consultative group in the Cook Islands that the Pacific Plan will represent the interests of everyone and not promote only one or two countries.

Mr Maiava was speaking to the Cook Islands' national consultation on the plan that emanated from Forum heads of government in Auckland last year.

The Cooks' Secretary for foreign affairs, Edwin Pittman, and director for trade, Carl Hunter, are members of the task force which is made up of senior officials from the 16 Forum member countries.

The Cook Isalnd news says Mr Maiava says the main challenge for the plan is to make it reflect the common interests of everyone.
