Solomon Islands police are investigating letters from an alleged militia group threatening the lives of the country's leaders and their families.
The Prime Minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza, has made a public appeal for information following his return to the country from a meeting of Pacific Island leaders in Hawaii.
A government spokesman, Johnson Honimae, says the threats, are being taken seriously but it's too early to say how the police investigation is progressing.
"Those letters were issued to all the Malaita members of Parliament, including ministers. And basically there were threats that were made, they were appealing for those members of parliament from Malaita to support the cause of this group."
Mr Honimae says that security has not been stepped up around Sir Allan at this point.
