A four-day conference identifying the way forward for the Royal Solomon Islands Police force has ended with a report handed to the Minister of Police, Augustine Taneko.

The Commissioner of Police, Shane Castles, says the report takes the recovery of the force to the rebuilding phase with emphasis on greater local ownership.

He says the report's recommendations include considerations on the motto and the force's vision and values.

Mr Taneko acknowledged the contribution of the Participating Police Force advisors but said the RSIP is now taking ownership of its future.
