Pacific Islands Forum confirms leaders to meet in Port Moresby in October

The Secretary-General of the Pacific Islands Forum, Greg Urwin, has announced that the date for the 36th Pacific Islands Forum leaders' summit in Papua New Guinea.

Mr Urwin says the Forum will meet in Port Moresby for four days from October the 25th.

The dates were confirmed following consultations with the host government, Papua New Guinea.

Mr Urwin says the Forum will consider the final draft of the Pacific Plan on regionalism, and give further direction to Forum mandates in social, economic, trade and political issues.

The meeting of the Forum Officials Committee will be held at the Forum Secretariat headquarters in Suva, Fiji for two days from October the 3rd.
