The Solomon Islands Governor General, Sir Nathaniel Waena, is in New Zealand to present the country's highest honour to New Zealand Prime Minister, Helen Clark.

Sir Nathaniel is to give Miss Clark the Star of Solomon Islands.

A Solomon Islands government official, Jerry Manele, says the award is being made for the Prime Minister's role in assisting the restoration of law and order through the Regional Assistance Mission.

The Prime Minister of Australia, John Howard, has been given the same honour.
