Tonga survey identifies health and education as peoples' priorities

The Tonga Finance Minister, Hon Siosiua T T Utoikamanu, has produced results of a survey on what the people want from the Budget for 2006.

500 households have indicated that health and education are their main priorities.

The survey found that 86 percent considered health as most important and 81 percent said education was the next area that government needs to concentrate its efforts on.

The Minister says the survey showed that more than half the households rate government services as excellent or good.
