The Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands has this week launched a course to train legal interpreters.

The 12 Solomon Islanders are currently court workers but will be trained to interpret and translate Pidgin in the courts.

Frank Crulci of the RAMSI funded Law and Justice programme, says having specialist interpreters in the court room will increase fairness and give all parties a fair chance.
