Guam's Visitors Authority says tourist numbers to resort destinations in the region will be affected by Japan Air Lines reducing the number of its flights.
Guam has more than a million visitors a year, with Japan being one of its most important markets.
The chairman of the Board of Director's for the Visitor's Authority, David Tydinco, says he understands Japan is poised to cut back the number of flights to Guam and Saipan.
"Guam I know will lose 72,000 airline seats on an annual basis, and Saipan will lose all the seats JAL put into that market, and represented about 180,000 seats, or about 35 to 40 percent of the total air seats, coming from Japan."
David Tydinco says JAL is also looking to cut back on flights to Hawaii.
He says JAL will announce its the details of the changes to flights next month.
