2:15 pm on 29 June 2005

At simultaneous announcements today in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, 36 Pacific nominees for the 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize 2005 are to be made public.

The 36 are part of a collective of 1000 women drawn from all religious, cultural and class backgrounds throughout the world.

The organisers say some are working in war zones while some are in developed countries.

They say all are dedicated to justice and increasing human security.
