Air NZ launches flights to Paris via Noumea and San Francisco

Air New Zealand will today launch a new flight route taking in Noumea, Auckland, San Francisco and Paris.

The move is part of a push by Air New Zealand to encourage Kiwi holidaymakers to travel to New Caledonia.

The announcement comes as New Caledonia's president Marie-Noelle Themereau prepares for her first official visit to New Zealand next week.

Air New Zealand's General Manager of Pacific Sales, Roger Poulton has just returned from New Caledonia, where he was inspecting the territory's potential as a tourist destination.

Mr Poulton says the new flight route, which will operate in partnership with the American carrier United Airlines, should be running three times a week by the end of the year.
