French Polynesia won't be attending the Pacific Mini Games in Palau.
The head of the Athletics Federation told the Tahitipresse news agency that for cost reasons nobody will travel to the games which will begin in three weeks.
This is the first time that French Polynesia will be absent from the regional 10-day sporting event.
The sports ministry and the local Olympic Committee declined to comment.
The Mini Games are expected to attract about 2,000 athletes and officials, with Guam sending 230 people alone.
