American Samoa Power Authority employees to demonstrate against new CEO

10:27 am on 11 July 2005

Employees of the American Samoa Power Authority are planning a sitdown at the Fono tomorrow to protest the appointment of a new Acting CEO of the authority

An organizer says they are hoping their presence will help overturn the decision by the board to appoint John Marsh to the job.

Mr Marsh was appointed to the board at the end of last week.

The demonstrators are also asking that the governor remove board members Morris Scanlan and Norman Okamura.

The employees have called on family members and supporters to join the demonstration which will coincide with the opening of the next Fono sitting.
