The Nauru Government is considering re-imposing restrictions on the movement of asylum seekers around the island.
The Government is reviewing its policies on the Australian run detention centre on the island.
The Minister Responsible for Asylum Seekers, David Adeang, says the review is needed for a number of reasons including concerns about the open centre policy brought in when his governrment came to power last year.
"We have allowed the residents of the offshore processing centres to have basically freedom of movement on the island within a specified period of time each day. One of the things we are going through now is a review of those arrangements, bascially to create certain exclusion zones."
