US police operations in Hawaii against drug makers and dealers

The US Attorney's Office in Hawai'i says 47 arrests were made in Hawaii in conjunction with the largest nationally coordinated law enforcement effort targeting methamphetamine in the United States.

It says Operation Wildfire was a cooperative effort among police in more than 200 localities and the US Drug Enforcement Administration.

More than 200 pounds of the drug were siezed and and 56 laboratories destroyed.

In the Hawaii part of the operation, 45 search warrants were executed and 24 pounds of ice, cocaine and marijuana valued at more than $1 million were seized.

Thirty-one firearms were confiscated, along with almost 430 thousand US dollars in cash and 12 vehicles.
