Fiji unable to meet demand for eggplants

Fiji is unable to meet the demand for eggplants, pawpaws and breadfruit from New Zealand and Australia due to insufficient production.

Export company Nature's Way Corporation told Radio Legend that up to September last year, the company had exported 257 tonnes of eggplants, but this year they have managed 228 tonnes so far.

Shalendra Chand says they have not been able to export any breadfruit at all because it hasn't been available.

He says the demand for pawpaws is also high and they are unable to meet it.
