The Samoa Tourism Conference starts in the capital, Apia, today.
The conference features top industry leaders and includes a top official of Virgin Blue which is emerging as a major player in bringing tourists to Samoa, through its union with Polynesian Airlines.
Seven officials from American Samoa Department of Commerce and Tourism Office are attending the conference, along with the President of the Pago Pago Visitors Association, Tom Drabble.
The idea of the two Samoas offering joint tourism promotions and packages has been touted many times before but has never been realised.
