Calls for investigations in Solomon Islands into allegations of leaked exam papers

7:04 am on 26 September 2005

A local company, Solomon Islands Printers Limited, has called on the government to investigate claims that some of this year's school examination papers were leaked.

The company told the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation that the Ministry of Education disregarded instructions from the Prime Minister's Office asking all ministries to have their printing done by SI Printers.

The firm says staff have to be trained in handling confidential papers and such documents have to be sealed.

The acting director of the National Examination Unit has said he is unaware of any leaked papers.
