Flooding is causing disruption in Fiji's main island.
Many hundreds of homes are reported to have flooded and families in the worst-affected areas including some squatter settlements have been moved to higher ground.
Some roads are under water while the main Queens Highway from Suva to Lautoka is under threat from rising waters in several places.
Flash flood warnings are in force for southern Viti Levu and the island groups of Kadavu, southern Lau, the Yasawas and the Mamanucas.
Daini Rabo, scientific officer at the Nadi Weather Office, is monitoring the situation.
"It was a particularly heavy downfall over a three hour period Nausori received 124mm of rain, and within a 24 hour period they received 187 mm of rain."
