The American Samoa Government's former manager for the School Lunch Program has escaped jail time.
Toetu Solaita was sentenced in the federal court in Honolulu for conspiring to defraud the United States.
The judge ruled that Solaita be given five years probation and pay 68,0000 US dollars in restitution.
The charges against Solaita stem from his role in a conspiracy to steal more than 68,000 dollars worth of food and goods from the programme that feeds school children.
Solaita admitted that he used his official position to approve his and his coconspirators' theft.
He was acquitted early this year in similar charges that was filed with the High Court of American Samoa.
