American Samoa sharpens polio campaign

Health officials in American Samoa are urging parents to make sure their young children have completed all necessary polio vaccinations.

A Department of Health official says this follows an advisory from the World Health Organisation about polio cases having been identified in an Asian country.

Children in American Samoa as required to have polio shots between the age of one and five.

Records of polio shots are required when students are enrolled in school.
