Pro-democracy campaigners in Tonga are meeting tonight to decide on what action they will take on Constitution Day.
This Friday marks the 130th anniversary of the creation of the Tongan Constitution by King George Tupou I.
Members of a self-proclaimed National Committee on Freedom, which includes People's Representatives, business leaders and civil servants, are to discuss strategies with which they can highlight the call for democratic reform.
Members of the committee, led by MP Akilisi Pohiva, have been touring villages on Tongatapu over the past week in an attempt to garner more support for their cause.
Mr Pohiva says tonight's meeting will assess how the tour has gone and decide on a programme of action for Friday.
