Hundreds of people have been evacuated from their homes after flooding in the southwestern part of Fiji's main island, Viti Levu.

The national disaster management office says most roads cut off by torrential rains at the weekend have since reopened.

The bad weather isn't expected to lift until tomorrow.

In September hundreds of people were evacuated to shelters, and one man lost his life in the capital, Suva, after heavy rain triggered flooding.
