Fuel restrictions at Tahiti-Fa'a international airport

1:23 pm on 16 November 2005

Aviation officials in French Polynesia are limiting use of fuel at Tahiti-Fa'a international airport.

The news agency Tahitipresse reports there's a shortage because the last delivery of fuel was contaminated.

No flights have had to be cancelled as a result.

Air Tahiti Nui planes are now operating under weight restrictions and are refuelling in Los Angeles.

The next delivery of fuel is expected to arrive on Sunday and be ready to use next Tuesday.
