Airports Fiji Limited is planning to invest 72-million US dollars to develop the country's two international airports to meet the demands of growing passenger traffic.

The company's chief executive, Ratu Sakiusa Tuisolia, has told the Fiji Times international passenger traffic of 1.2 million through Nadi Airport last year is expected to grow to two million by 2014.

At Nausori Airport, the 65,000 international passengers in 2004 are projected to rise to 120,000 by 2014.

Both airports are also having to cope with sharply increasing numbers of domestic passengers.

Ratu Sakiusa says Airports Fiji Limited is preparing a 20-year master plan for airport development to be ready by February next year.
