American Samoa LBJ Hospital proposes new fee scales for some patients

11:23 am on 7 December 2005

American Samoa's Hospital Authority Board is contemplating changes to the higher medical fees now charged by the LBJ hospital.

The hospital's Chief Financial Officer, David Deprin says the board wants to set an all inclusive out-patient rate of twenty dollars for children under 18.

The fee would cover lab tests, x-rays and all other services required for the treatment of young patients.

Two other fee changes will also be discussed at the board meeting tomorrow but Mr Deprin declined to comment on them saying it was best for the board to explain these changes.
