The Fiji government has approved a 3 per cent Cost of living Adjustment (COLA) payout to civil servants before Christmas.
Fiji Public Servant Association secretary Rajeshwar Singh welcomed the decision especially since the payment will not be a one-off but will be assimilated into the pay rates of employees.
Government also decided not to go to the High Court to get a judicial review of the Permanent Arbitrator's awards.
Government also announced it will make other offers to the unions to settle and implement the provisions of the awards when talks begin in January next year.
