PNG judges talk of resigning en masse over lack of leadership in judiciary

Six judges in Papua New Guinea are tipped to resign en masse early next year in protest at the running of the nation's judiciary.

The possible resignations would have an adverse effect on the hearing of cases in both the National and Supreme courts that are already plagued by a huge backlog of cases to deal with.

One of the six judges, who told the Post-Courier yesterday that he spoke on behalf of the other judges says there is a perceived lack of leadership in the judiciary.
