American Samoa court throws out Senate suit against LBJ hospital

11:33 am on 3 February 2006

The High Court in American Samoa has dismissed the Senate's suit against the LBJ hospital and the executive branch to halt the higher hospital charges.

Chief Justice Michael Kruse said the Senate did not have standing to bring the complaint and has dismissed it without reaching the merits of the allegations.

The Senate had asked the court to determine that the increased fees violate the code because the hospital did not follow requirements of the administrative code in implementing them.
