Sacks of marijuana found on Samoa ferry

7:02 pm on 9 February 2006

There's been a major drugs bust on the ferry that travels between the two Samoas.

Sacks of marijuana were found in the crew quarters on the Samoa inter island vessel Lady Naomi this afternoon as the passengers were about to board for its return trip to Apia from Pago Pago.

Customs officers used dogs to search the boat.

Two crew have been taken into custody.
