Samoa government says securing people more jobs overseas

The government in Samoa says its securing its people more and more employment opportunities overseas.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Misa Telefoni has told Parliament that 19 seamen recently traveled to Italy and Singapore to work on cruise and cargo vessels.

They will join other Samoan seamen now employed on various vessels and will enjoy a monthly wage of US$1,300 per month .

Misa was quoted by the Samoa Observer saying that some will moonlight as entertainers on some of these cruise vessels, increasing their earnings even further.

Misa assured Parliament that Government would continue to secure employment opportunities abroad for Samoans.
