A number of Pacific Island countries will not be able to make international phone calls for about three hours tomorrow while Telecom New Zealand repairs a damaged satellite dish.

The countries losing all international services are Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Tonga, while connections to Chatham islands will also be down.

Papua New Guinea will have partially cut services.

Internet and data services will also be affected.

Telecom New Zealand says it will be repairing a puncture in the protective cover of its dish at Warkworth, north of Auckland.
