The Chief Justices of Pacific Island countries have agreed on a seven-strong executive to spearhead an education programme for court officials.

The development initiative was formally set up during the recent conference of the heads of Pacific judiciaries in Auckland.

The executive is made up of the chief justices of Papua New Guinea, Samoa and the Federated States of Micronesia.

Also in the committee is a magistrates' representative, a legal education expert, and a representative from each of the two funding agencies, AusAID and NZAID.
