An Australian and Briton have been arrested in the Papua New Guinea province of Bougainville, nearly two years after they entered the province illegally.
Bougainville police arrested Australian Jeffrey Richards and Briton James Nesbitt on Wednesday night in Buka.
They face immigration and criminal charges.
In 2004, James Nesbitt and Jeff Richards flew to the disused airstrip at Aropa near the Panguna mine in violation of air traffic regulations.
The pair were allegedly brought into the province by wanted money scam operator, Noah Musingku.
They joined Mr Musingku's self-styled kingdom and assumed the names Prince Jeffrey and Lord James.
The two have been linked to suspected arms-smuggling and an investment scam.
The pair were handed over to Papua New Guinea authorities and are being held in Bomana prison in Port Moresby.
