Hawaiian Holdings posts a loss

Hawaiian Airlines' parent company, Hawaiian Holdings yesterday posted a loss of profits for 2005, when the carrier emerged from bankruptcy protection.

Hawaiian's president and chief executive officer, Mark Dunkerley said the year was challenging due to higher fuel costs and intense competition.

He said Hawaiian continues to make progress in 2006 towards its goals of increasing operating revenue and controlling expenses.

For the three months ended December 31st, Hawaiian posted a net loss of 19.5 US dollars on revenues of 210.3 million US dollars.
