Two people who went missing in Solomon Islands waters in January have been rescued in Vanuatu.
The couple were picked up by a fishing vessel before being taken to Port Vila for medical attention.
The Superintendent of Marine in Honiara Elliot Cortis says the pair were heading to Dai Island from Malu'u on Malaita in an outboard motor-powered canoe on January 31st but they never made it.
He says attempts to find them were fruitless due to bad weather.
The SIBC reports Mr Cortis saying arrangements are being made for the couple's return to Solomon Islands next week.
