Five new faces in new Samoa cabinet

Five new faces appear in the new cabinet of Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele made public at the weekend.

Niko Li Hang was named Minister of Finance, Gatoloai Amataga Gidlow, daughter of the late former prime Minsiter Tofilau Eti Alesana is the Minister of Health, Taua Kitiona is appointed Minister of Agriculture, and Unasa Mesi has been named Minister of Justice.

Former Speaker of Parliament Toleafoa Faafisi has been named Minister of Police.

Deputy Prime Minister Misa Telefoni who had been Minister of Finance in the last cabinet has been appointed as Minister of Tourism, Trade, Labor and Commerce.

Fiame Naomi Mataafa who was Minister of Education is now the Minister of Women and Youth Affairs.

Former Minister of Health Mulitalo Siafausa has been appointed Minister of Telecommunications.

Former Agriculture Minister Toomata Alapati is now appointed Minister of Education while Tusuga Aveau Sofara moves from Lands and Environment to become Minister of Public Works.

Former Minister of Aviation and Telecommunications Faumuina Liuga was named Minister of Lands and Environment.

The only former minister who retained the same portfolio was Tuuu Anasii who continues as Minister of Inland Revenue.
