One election petitioner in Samoa has accused the Registrar of electors and voters for corrupt and illegal practice in last month's election.

The Registrar is also the Commissioner of the electoral office and second respondent in the case.

The petition is filed by Togia'i Fuatau Eteuati Fai'ilagi, a candidate for Va'a o Fonoti constituency in last month's election.

Togia'i who was unsuccessful, allege that the second respondent should not have included 29 names of electors and voters in the Va'a o Fonoti electoral roll, as they are not eligible to vote in the constituency.

Togia'i is also accusing the HRPP candidate, Leao Talalelei Tuitama who won the seat, of corrupt practices. The petitioner alleges that the re-elected MP and first respondent gave two electors money for the purpose of influencing their votes.

The petitioner prays for an order from the court to have him declared as duly elected candidate for the constituency, and not the first respondent.
