The government of Taiwan has given Kiribati just over 110,000 US dollars to rehabilitate and equip primary and secondary schools.
At a ceremony to mark the donation, Taiwan's ambassador, Samuel Chen, said like Kiribati, Taiwan sees education as one of the most important factors for successful development.
Taiwan has spent more than seven million US dollars to boost development in Kiribati.
This amount does not include other grants to private and non government organisations.
