A fishing boat is being detained in America Samoa while police look for a suspect that may have fled to neighbouring Samoa when the boat made a quick trip to Apia.
The boat, Enterprise was boarded by police when it arrived from Apia, on Friday.
A local resident who has been under investigation for sex offences is believed to have traveled on the boat to Apia.
He was not on board when the vessel returned to Pago Pago.
The Commander of the Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Bureau Vaa Sunia says there was a stop order issued for the suspect at the airport.
He says they are in contact with Samoa police who are assisting in the search for the suspect.
