American Samoa's Congressman, Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, says construction of a clinic for military veterans in American Samoa will begin next month.
Faleomavaega says the clinic will have one full-time physician, one or two nurses, and a mental health provider.
A Californian construction company has been contracted to carry out renovations of the old Army Reserve Center to turn it into a health clinic.
The renovations will cost about half a million dollars and the centre should be opened by the end of this year or early next year.
