Three candidates shortlisted for Vanuatu police commissioner's job

The names of the three police officers shortlisted for the Vanuatu police commissioner's job have been released.

The acting police commissioner, Lt Col Arthur Caulton, says he and two other senior police officers have been shortlisted and interviewed by a panel of four director generals.

"The three of us who went through the interview are Lt Colonel Joszua Bong, Major Willie Vira and myself, Lt Colonel Arthur Caulton. It is still not known who will be successful to take up the post of police commissioner."

A decision was expected to be made at the end of last month.

Those on the panel are reportedly Jean Sese from the Prime Minister's office, Myriam Abel representing the Ministry of Health, Simeon Athy from the Finance Ministry, and Johnson Wabaiat from Internal Affairs, who is responsible for police.
